Many of you have asked about the prayer to Saint Michael that we had prayed from October through December.  In response to a new crisis of clerical sin, Bishop Rhoades had encouraged parishes to pray this prayer at the end of Mass, but did not specifically state how long he desired this to be done.  I have decided on a long-term plan in continuity within the tradition of the formation of the "prayers after Mass" that Pope Leo XIII instituted in 1884, also known as the Leonine prayers.

The Knights of Columbus, St. Therese Martin Council 17043, is donating 24 new winter coats to any Little Flower Parish youth in need. The coats will be available in the Gathering Space beginning after the 9:30 am Mass this Sunday, January 20.

What a beautiful Christmas celebration we had.  I am so grateful to the many people that volunteered, coordinated, and orchestrated all the many important parts of the season, including church decorations, music, hospitality, evangelization, children’s ministries, and the Epiphany party prep & clean-up.  It was a joyful time and I think God was praised in our efforts. Thank you all!

Reflections on the beauty of our Faith from our parish missionary

Imagine walking on a tightrope across the Grand Canyon. There is only one way that you could fall off—if you lose your balance.

“All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” (Rom. 3:23) And St. Augustine tells us that “pride is the root of all sin’. Whenever we sin, we let pride inflate ourselves big enough that we are bigger than God. Pride is what throws us off balance in our walk along the tightrope.

All Boys and Girls, Ages 9-14 are invited to participate in the
2019 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship

With the octave of Christmas still carrying on, the universal Church throughout the world is still in mega-celebration mode.  The festivity should remain abundant, even though the secular culture has already packed up the Christmas spirit until next year.  Let us not forget the "twelve days of Christmas" that lead to the great feast of Epiphany. And then, we still have another week of Christmas that leads to the Baptism of the Lord.  For next Sunday, as we remember the wise men's gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, we as a parish family will take the time to join together and celebrate the great Christmas season with a Christmas/Epiphany potluck luncheon.  Starting immediately after the 11:30am Mass (so around 12:30pm), we will bless our food and share each other's company. After celebration of Christmas with our families, this is our chance to do the same with our parish family. We hope to have you there!
