This weekend the Men's Christ Renews His Parish retreat will conclude after extensive preparations have been made for it by the generosity of the mission team - almost all of them from Saint Pius X Parish where I was assigned for my first four years of priesthood.  It was beautiful to see my past collide with my present in such a grace-filled and powerful way.  I am grateful to God for the mysterious way He works.  Indeed, His Providence is greater than we can imagine, as long as we remain faithful.  Pray that the men of our parish who went on the retreat (and the women from last weekend) will continue to allow God to work in their lives as they respond to His call for them.  I truly believe that these retreats are an important way that Christ will continue to "make all things new" in our faith community, and draw us ever deeper into the journey of His love!

Question & answer session for those who want to enter into a dialogue regarding the crisis in our Church today.

Attorney Donald J. Schmid, National Review Board and Diocesan Review Board will address the recent Crisis in the Church.

The Christ Renews His Parish women's retreat is happening this weekend.  About sixty women are sharing their faith with each other and growing closer to the Lord.  Please keep them in your prayers.  Also, if you would like to write a letter to the retreat participants to express your love and support, there is still time to do so, but you must hurry.  Simply drop off any letters in the box near the doors of the church.

This past week we bid farewell to our parish secretary, Tammy, after years of faithful service.  I'm sure she has impacted many lives in the parish over that time, and we are grateful for her dedication and offer her our prayers for the future.

For over 40 years, parishioners from Little Flower Church have prepared and served dinner on the first Monday of every month at Hope Rescue Mission.
The need continues to grow. 35 years ago, we were serving 60-70 people; Last month, 200 went through our serving line!

Next weekend we will have our women’s retreat.  The following weekend is the men’s.  Please keep the participants and the team members in your prayers, as God desires to do so much in their hearts over these two days.  In fact, there still is time to register if your schedule suddenly opened up or you are now more certain of your ability to commit to the retreat.  Feel free to contact the parish office (or send me an e-mail) with a phone number to reach you and we will make sure you are contacted.

Jessica Kline was commissioned as our missionary for the year by Bishop Rhoades on September 2.

May the Holy Spirit guide her in her ministry.
