Next weekend we will have our women’s retreat.  The following weekend is the men’s.  Please keep the participants and the team members in your prayers, as God desires to do so much in their hearts over these two days.  In fact, there still is time to register if your schedule suddenly opened up or you are now more certain of your ability to commit to the retreat.  Feel free to contact the parish office (or send me an e-mail) with a phone number to reach you and we will make sure you are contacted.

Many helpful perspectives are being expressed about purification and healing in the Church.  I would encourage continued reading both nationally and locally, or listening to Redeemer Radio, which also has both in-house and syndicated programs.  One place nearby to check out would be saintv.org.  Under "Parish Life" at the top of the homepage, listen to the homily by Fr. Dan for August 19 (as well as the 12th and 15th evening).  If you missed my own homilies or bulletin columns from the past month or so, please review those as well.

We must ask the Holy Spirit for guidance on how to approach this and how to work for the rebuilding of God's church.  The Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, is the only one who can breathe life back into the hearts and souls of the victims and of the broken church.  Come, Holy Spirit!

Saint Thérèse, the little flower of God's garden, pray for us to learn to be little.
