In every report on Whatsoever You Do Outreach, we thank you for your generosity. But hearing today’s Gospel proclaimed and hearing the words – “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” – we are reminded to tell you that by your generosity you are doing just that, loving your neighbor as yourself. You are loving the neighbor who has been beaten down by Covid, who is suffering some terrible debilitating illness, who cannot work because of an accident or medical condition, who is a single parent who can’t balance the needs of children with the necessity of bringing in an income. Every recipient of assistance is thankful, but here are the words of a woman whose husband is disabled and unable to work, who has four teenage children, and just got accepted for a new job. “I want to say thank you to the Little Flower Church for helping with my electric bill assistance. God bless you and everyone of you, from my family to yours.”
And, as always, we thank you for your generosity that brings a little warmth and relief to what is otherwise cold, dank, rainy days for too many folks.
