SouLFood@LittleFlower: High School Ministry
Thank you for your interest in supporting Little Flower youth ministry!
Our teenagers are the young church here and now, and their ministry and formation is the responsibility of the entire parish, just as the teens are responsible for being active in and giving vibrancy to the parish in return. Please prayerfully consider supporting our young church through one or more of the following ministries, and contact Hannah with your interest or questions. God bless you!
Those who formally commit to praying daily for about ten Little Flower teens (by name) and for the youth ministry. This is the most essential piece of successful youth ministry (30 minutes/day)
Adult Youth Minister*
Those called to direct ministry to the teens. Must be in good standing with the Catholic Church, able to receive the sacraments, and NOT the parent of a high school teen. Commitment to attending Sunday night gatherings and additional planning meetings required (max. 3 hours/week)
Those who help coordinate and lead service opportunities for the ministry (3-5 hours once a month or less, depending on the size of the team)
Those committed to attending teens' sporting events, performances, etc. to show parish support, always with at least one other adult from the parish (varies, at least once a month)
Those who provide snacks and food for the group on occasion (once a month or less)
Those who oversee, plan, and execute youth ministry fundraisers (a few times a year)
Those who drive teens to special events such as retreats, FaithFest, and service days (once or twice a semester)
Those who supervise youth while on trips, retreats, etc. (once or twice a semester)
Those who speak to the teens about their affirmative faith experience or expertise (once or twice a year)
Those who support the teens by sending birthday cards, graduation cards, get well cards, and thank you notes (average 30 minutes/month)
Those willing to help with anything!
Other ways of supporting the teens and the youth ministry of Little Flower Parish as determined by the volunteer and the director
