According to Pope Francis, in his 2013 apostolic exhortation, Evangelium Vitae, in virtue of our baptism, all of us are missionary disciples. His emphasis is that no one is exempt from the mission of the Church. On the contrary, every Christian is called to be personally involved in evangelization. "Every Christian is a missionary to the extent that he or she has encountered the love of God in Christ Jesus: we no longer say that we are ‘disciples’ and ‘missionaries,’ but rather that we are always "missionary disciples."
The mission of the Church consists of proclaiming God's love to the world, and there are diverse ways we do this. We participate in the mission of the Church through every action our faith inspires us to take. For instance, being good parents to our kids is part of the mission of the Church. Besides, as members of St Therese community, because of the spiritual bond among us as members of the body of Christ, we are part of all that the universal Church and our parish community is doing. The present call is to get more involved in the life of our parish community.
